NewsPRESS RELEASE - For immediate releaseViridor Waste Management is doubling the capacity of its Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Peterborough. Re-engineering of the plant will also allow the inclusion of glass in co-mingled collections.
Viridor Waste Management is doubling the capacity of its Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Thanks to a £1million investment, including Council Grant Funding from Peterborough City Council, the extensive MRF redevelopment gives the East of England a state-of-the art recycling centre. The facility will be able to recycle 90,000 tonnes of materials from both households and businesses every year. Mary Corin, Viridor's Director of Recycling Development, said: "This is a really exciting time. The continuous development that Viridor promotes through its partnerships with local authorities means that a lot more resources can be diverted away from landfill and into manufacturing at a cost that both the taxpayer and industry can afford. "By doubling our capacity and being able to include glass, Viridor can now help more local authorities ensure their recyclables are processed efficiently and effectively into high quality products, whilst meeting and even exceeding their recycling targets." The engineering works will be completed in early March.
